These trails are mostly quite flat and easy to navigate and are a favorite for locals and tourists alike. Like Golden Gate Park, the Presidio offers playgrounds, woodsy trails and bike paths, many of them with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Mountain Lake Park offers an off-leash dog area, tennis/basketball courts, and several picnic areas. Another favorite attraction for families is the the lovely Julius Kahn playground.; The Presidio is also home to the Walt Disney Museum, movie and entertainment companies, a post office, several great restaurants and historical residences that used to house military officers, now converted to commercial use.;
The Richmond district is home to several synagogues including the city's largest, Temple Emanuel. There are also a multitude of beautiful churches neaby including the distinctive Holy Virgin Cathedral on Geary, an Orthodox Church with whimsical domed spires.
If the Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, local bars, bookstores and restaurants were not enough to keep you occupied, the Marin Headlands and the Sonoma and Napa Wine Country regions are easily accessible just to the north across the Golden Gate Bridge. Driving north through the Presidio you'll have the opportunity to split off via the Presidio Parkway to Crissy Field, the Marina and Pacific Heights. Traveling in the other direction, nearby Fulton and Geary Boulevard offer a direct route to Hayes Valley and downtown San Francisco.
